History

Founded by Craig Barrett and Jayme Nabors, NBI’s commitment to client service has made it one of Florida’s fastest growing commercial real estate brokerages. In 1998, co-founder Craig Barrett left his job at FedEx to enter commercial real estate. There, he found his calling. For seven years, he worked at one of the country’s largest brokerages – and for more than a few of those years, he was the firm’s top salesman.

In 2005, he earned his broker’s license and decided to open his own firm. He partnered with Jayme Nabors, and Nabors-Barrett Investments was born. Many of Craig’s and Jayme’s clients followed the duo to their new enterprise. The level of NBI’s client-centered service is the reason most of those customers are with them to this day. The pair opened in 900 square feet of office space, but quickly outgrew it.

From these humble beginnings,  NBI has grown into the largest commercial real estate brokerage in the Southeast Shortly after opening, they added property management to their portfolio of services, and it has been another enormous success. Currently, the firm manages more than 500 properties. Bottom line: In this time, the company has sold or leased hundreds of millions of dollars worth of property and worked with many of the nation’s major retailers, defense contractors, and the like.
